Cache Corruption with Provisioning Server 6.0

Find me on:

cache_corruption_with_provisioning_server_6.0Upon working in environments with the brand new Provisioning Server 6.0, I have ran across a bnistack corruption issue. This issue exists in PVS 5.6SP2 environments and ended up in the latest releases of PVS 6.0. If you are running into some weird profile corruption problems or random loss of data within a Provisioned image this could very well be the reason why. Citrix currently does not have an official hotfix release for this problem, however, this issue can be fixed for both PVS 5.6SP2 and PVS 6.0 using the hotfix that is available here:

Another option is to simply use the PVS 5.6SP1 target device client on your provisioned machines as this is is a client issue which does not happen with that version of the client.

If you would not like to install this hotfix for PVS 6.0 since it is stated as a 5.6 hotfix or use the 5.6SP1 client then you may reach out to Citrix support and they have a private available for this issue for PVS 6. I can confirm this patch as working properly on a PVS6.0 environment per my testing this past week.

Update: Citrix has released an official hotfix for this issue (hotfix 006) and can be found at http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX131552
